COLD CATHODE FLUORESCENT LAMPS(CCFLs) are sealed glass tubes filled with inert gases. When a high voltage is placed across the tube, the glass ionize creating(UV) light. The UV light, in turn, excits an inner coating of phosphor, creating visible light.
